Tour Information

 

Texas Veterinary ServicesNIAA and the Texas Farm Bureau have arranged a special tour of the livestock import/export facilities near Eagle Pass, Texas for those who are interested in how animals are moved into and out of the United States.  In addition, area experts will be sharing their knowledge of this region of Texas and its rich ranching heritage.

Participants on the optional tour will leave the Omni San Antonio Hotel at 7:30 Bienvenidos Eagle Pass, Texasa.m. on Thursday, April 14th and travel approximately 2 ½ hours to Eagle Pass via van or motor coach.  There will be a tour of the import facility, located 11 miles from Eagle Pass at El Indio, and USDA-APHIS personnel will provide a special presentation.  After a provided lunch, participants will be touring the Texas Department of Agriculture’s facilities in Eagle Pass.  The participants will be returned to the hotel by 4:30 p.m.   Cost of the optional tour is $75.00 per participant.
