Animal ID Expert, Committee Chair Wins
2006 President’s Award
Louisville, KY— Dr.
Robert Fourdraine, of the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium,
was named winner of the President’s Award for outstanding service as a
committee chairman, here today at the annual meeting of the National
Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA.)
Dr. Fourdraine is
chairman of the NIAA Animal Identification and Information Systems
Committee.
In presenting the
award NIAA President and CEO Glenn Slack said, “Dr. Fourdraine led the
Association’s efforts in a difficult and frustrating year for proponents
of a national identification system.”
NIAA’s mission is to
provide a forum for building consensus and advancing solutions for
animal agriculture and to provide continuing education and
communications linkages for animal agriculture professionals.
The Association is
dedicated to programs which eradicate animal diseases, to promote safe
and wholesome food at home and abroad, and to encourage best practices
in environmental stewardship, animal health and well being. Its members
include producers, veterinarians, scientists, state and federal
officials, and business executives.
