Animal ID Expert, Committee Chair Wins
2006 President’s Award

Louisville, KY— Dr. Robert Fourdraine, of the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium, was named winner of the President’s Award for outstanding service as a committee chairman, here today at the annual meeting of the National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA.)

Dr. Fourdraine is chairman of the NIAA Animal Identification and Information Systems Committee.

In presenting the award NIAA President and CEO Glenn Slack said, “Dr. Fourdraine led the Association’s efforts in a difficult and frustrating year for proponents of a national identification system.”

NIAA’s mission is to provide a forum for building consensus and advancing solutions for animal agriculture and to provide continuing education and communications linkages for animal agriculture professionals.

The Association is dedicated to programs which eradicate animal diseases, to promote safe and wholesome food at home and abroad, and to encourage best practices in environmental stewardship, animal health and well being.  Its members include producers, veterinarians, scientists, state and federal officials, and business executives.
