Cohort 3 of NIAA’s Advanced Training for Animal Agriculture Leaders tour Denver Agriculture Institutions
The third cohort of the National Institute for Animal Agriculture’s (NIAA) Advanced Training for Animal Agriculture Leaders met for their fourth in-person leadership training session in Denver, Colorado.
During their time in the Denver area, the leaders learned from:
- Chandler Mulvaney, NCBA and Cohort 2 member of the Advanced Training for Animal Agriculture Leaders, led Cohort 3 in a great media training exercise.
- Colorado State University’s AgNext Program hosted the group to discuss their current research project. Pedro Carvalho and team led a tour in the field lab to see current projects in action. This visit facilitated fantastic discussions about the future of animal agriculture within the group.
- Karissa Isaacs and the team at Superior Farms provided a tour of the sheep processing facility and outlined the recent ballot initiative that would have closed the facility. The discussion focused on advocating for all animal agriculture and their journey to successfully fight the ballot initiative over the past year.
The third cohort of the Advanced Training for Animal Agriculture Leaders represents a wide range of agricultural sectors to advance animal agriculture’s role in today’s food system.
